Names of God

Elohay אלהי

My God

In contrast to Eli, Elohay (My God) is a confident and intimate prayer salutation, through which the warm personal communion with God is trustingly expressed.

In the New Testament, it is also a creed of faith.

Psalms 30:10-12 (ESV)

"Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me! O Lord, be my helper!" You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God [YHVH Elohay] , I will give thanks to you forever!"
