In the light of the Bible God’s name El Roi expresses a wealth of comfort.

He - the God who sees everything - knows my past, present and future. Although this name can be found in only one place in the Old Testament, it comforted Hagar, an Egyptian slave, in her distress, encouraged her and gave her new assurance through a great promise.

Psalms 139:1-5 (ESV)

O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.

The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
