El reflects God as the Mighty and the Strong, the Highest above all, the only true God!
El (plural Elohim) is derived from Aul (strength and power). In the Old Testament, this name of God is often used in combination with other supplementary Hebrew names of God.
They are an attempt to describe the incredible dimension of His being and His divine attributes.
El Chai (God of life), El Olam (Eternal God), El Shaddai (God Almighty), El Elyon (God Most High), Eloah (the only mighty God ), El Roi (God who sees me), El Hanun (Gracious God), Immanuel (God with us)...
And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (He was priest of God Most High.) And he blessed him and said, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth."
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
"Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you. But the Lord of hosts is exalted in justice, and the Holy God shows himself holy in righteousness.
"As for me, I would seek God, and to God would I commit my cause, who does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number..."
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us success! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We bless you from the house of the Lord. The Lord is God, and he has made his light to shine upon us.
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth - as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords" - yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
